Weekly Workouts V

So, last week I changed things up a bit. My neck still isn't 100% so I took most of Labor Day weekend off. Then, once I was back to workouts - I made sure to take full days off in between days, to recover. So far it's working. Fingers crossed - my neck is feeling OK. Not 100%, but, pretty good considering. The thing with the PWG workouts is that since they are so intense - it's actually 100% ok to take more recovery days. I think the problem with taking these days... for me... is that working out mentally helps me organize my thoughts, clear my head, and you know - release those endorphins. So I struggle with that, but, I know it's for the better when I'm physically injured.

So here's how it went!

Monday: Off

Tuesday: Fighter Conditioning at PWG (Chris' Class)

Wednesday: Fighter Conditioning at PWG (James' Class)

Thursday: Off

Friday: The workout I posted on Saturday - 10-6 body weight work in a half hour or so-- CLICK HERE

Saturday: Fighter Conditioning at PWG (Derek's Class)

Sunday: Off

Question of the week: What is your favorite way to work out?

Have a great one! xo

Weekly Workouts IV

Last week, I didn't mix it up too much, I thought I'd really be able to get after it but, my neck started hurting again so I had to tone it down towards the end of the week. Ugh, my neck! It's so annoying. I'm on vacation this week so I'm thinking I'll make an appointment with my acupuncturist who I haven't gone to in 2 years. In my experience, I ALWAYS feel better after getting acupuncture. I've had some upper back/neck issues throughout the years that it really helps relieve. Anyone know an acupuncturist in the Boston area or south shore? Mine is amazing, but, she's in Middleton and I'm NEVER up there anymore. Would love any recommendations!

Anyway - here's how it went:

Monday: Fighter Conditioning at PWG (Brian's Class)

Tuesday: Fighter Conditioning at PWG (Chris' Class)

Wednesday: Rest

Thursday: Fighter Conditioning at PWG (Tom's Class)
So, we started class with a ton of jump roping. Most classes start with 3-4 mins of jump roping, but, Tom has us complete a round of jump roping and adds in sprints and double-unders. So I'm pretty pumped that I can DO a nice consistent amount of double unders now but, MAN they tire me out so much for the rest of class. I think I need to focus on not jumping so HARD when I do them. Any advice?? Just lighten up a bit? My arms were lead for the rest of class.

Friday: 3 mi run and cleaned for 5 hours - does that count? haha

Saturday: Hmmm I did 60 squats and about 40 mountain climbers. That's it.

Sunday: Rest

Interested to hear what you guys have to say about acupuncturists in the Boston area and perfecting my double-unders. Have a great week! xo

Weekly Workouts III

Last week, I got back to Yoga for the first time since the North End Yoga Class I took for #LaceUp365. I've been wanting to go for a while because there is an excellent studio right inside Legacy Place (across from JP Licks). It just makes sense for me to walk over after a day in the office before I go home. It was a great class and, Betty, who owns the studio taught it. Whenever I take Yoga, I tell myself I need to keep going because it's such a great complement to my normal workout routine. Also, it's fun to work on my back bridges and headstands... it brings me back to my gymnastics days! My goal is to try and go once a week.

Monday: Fighter Conditioning at Peter Welch's Gym (Brian's Class)

Tuesday: Vinyasa Flow Yoga at Stil Studio at Legacy Place (Betty's Class)

Wednesday: Fighter Conditioning at Peter Welch's Gym (James' Class)

Thursday: Rest

Friday: Fighter Conditioning at Peter Welch's Gym (Derek's Class)

Saturday: Rest

Sunday: 3.83 run

Post yoga - thumbs up!

Taking a poll: What is your favorite type of Yoga class?

Happy Thursday! xo
